About Us

Feeling good and liberated in your own body,

Present and focused with clarity of thought,

Breathing deeply and living with intention,

Connected to and with the rhythms of nature,

Discovering inner peace….

….come to a class and experience this for yourself!

Rishi Yoga is here to help you find peace and relaxation and feel good inside your own body using the tools already available to us from Yoga. When you feel satisfied and at peace, you have the capacity to envision and realize your dreams with compassion and joy.

Our home base is in Kooskia, Idaho- nestled in the Clearwater Valley- however, you may find us popping up in different places from time to time, such as: Alaska, Virginia, the Nez Perce Clearwater National Forest, and on Zoom!

Philosophy + Practice = Peace

We draw our inspiration from traditional Himalayan Yoga practices and the yoga philosophy of Patanjali, the great Rishi (sage) and author of the Yoga Sutras. In each of our classes, we integrate the Eight Limbs of Yoga, with an emphasis on breathing, meditation, energy, and connecting to nature. Join us for one of our group classes, workshops, retreats, or book a private session to enjoy a class tailored to your needs.

Founder

Christina Stalnaker, founder of Rishi Yoga, started practicing yoga as a young officer in the U.S. Army over 15 years ago. While serving a year-long tour in Afghanistan, working alongside Afghan National Police Women, and witnessing the many tragedies of war, she was inspired to follow a different path. She has dedicated her life to spreading the wisdom of yoga and guiding others to inner peace.

It is through inner peace we will achieve peace throughout the world.

Following in the footsteps of the great yogis, she returned to South Asia- this time to stay and learn at the incredible yoga ashrams in Rishikesh, India- the birthplace of Yoga. She has completed over 1,000 hours of Yoga Teacher Training and is currently continuing her studies in Somatic Intuitive Healing and Mindfulness Meditation.

Collaborations

We also collaborate with and support yoga teachers in Idaho County and abroad, through our Idaho County Yoga Collective, collaborative workshops, nature-immersive retreats, and our annual Wild Idaho Yoga Festival.

We value inclusivity and empowerment- to lift each other up, inspire one another, and cheer each other on as we all journey through this adventure called life together.

“This morning was such a wonderful session thank you so much Christina. The rest of my day was perfect because it started out so good.”
